WHY I’M RUNNING
I have been fortunate to call Montana my home my entire life. I grew up on a wheat farm outside of Culbertson in northeastern Montana and after graduation ventured west to Missoula where I attended school and the University of Montana and fell in love with the mountain and the people here. From a young age, I was taught to give back to the community. I have lived by this principle my entire life; giving back to the communities that raised me, that formed and shaped me, that taught me true morals, values, and what it means to be a Montanan.
Now is my time to serve my community of Montanans at another level. I am ready to work for the great people of this state in Helena, therefore, I am running for Montana House District 98. I am ready, willing, and able to fight with bold and fearless conviction in the Montana House of Representatives.
As an out and proud gay man, I will be a strong voice for the LGBTQ+ and two-spirit community. As a person who has battled alcoholism and made the conscious decision at a young age to live a life of sobriety, I will advocate for better treatment options for those struggling with addiction, resources, suicide prevention, and access to mental healthcare. As a person who recognizes the many privileges I have, I will fight for diversity, equity, inclusion, and for the marginalized communities who are too often overlooked and left out. As a Montanan who wants to see the next generations thrive, I will advocate for our children, for our schools, for our teachers, for affordable childcare, and for kindergarten readiness.
